Federated Identity Management for Research Collaborations

posted Apr 23, 2012, 1:39 PM by Jim Basney
The organizers of a series of workshops on Federated Identity Systems for Scientific Collaborations have published a research paper on "a common vision for federated identity management across research collaborations" titled Federated Identity Management for Research Collaborations. The paper identifies the CILogon Service as an example of credential translation services of relevance to the High Energy Physics (HEP) community. It also discusses use of MyProxy to issue short-lived user credentials for thick clients in the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF). The authors invite comments on the paper, as input to further discussions with research collaborations on the topic of federated identity management.
