CILogon Enables InCommon Access to Globus Online

CILogon is now an identity provider for Globus Online, which provides reliable, high-performance, secure file transfer for researchers (see user quotes and case studies). By linking with CILogon, Globus Online users can now log on using their existing university username and password, via the InCommon federation. The link between CILogon and Globus Online is created via the OAuth for MyProxy protocol, an OAuth-compliant REST web interface for delegating short-lived user certificates to web applications acting on the user's behalf. Globus Online uses the same protocol to link with Argonne, Blue Waters, and XSEDE identity providers.
