CILogon Service 2.0

We've updated the CILogon Service at https://cilogon.org to address your suggestions and make other improvements based on our lessons learned so far. We hope you agree that this update is an improvement! Please keep sending your suggestions to info@cilogon.org for how we can make the CILogon Service more useful.

Improvements include:

• Simplified Interface: We've re-designed our pages to focus on our core functionality. Our new identity provider selector combines both InCommon and OpenID providers into a single list for easier selection. Descriptive text previously on the cilogon.org pages has now moved to www.cilogon.org (particularly to our new FAQ at www.cilogon.org/faq) to reduce distractions on the cilogon.org site.
• Improved Performance: We've decreased page load times by an order of magnitude.
• Longer Certificate Lifetimes: Our updated Java Web Start application can now download certificates valid for up to 13 months, in both PEM and PKCS12 formats. Note that you will be required to select a passphrase for your private key when requesting longer-lived certificates.
• Interface Skins: Partners can now customize the cilogon.org interface with their preferred logos, colors, and fonts for their user community. Please contact info@cilogon.org for details.
